Modern Slavery Policy
This voluntary statement sets out the steps Bonhill Partners Ltd has taken, and intends to take, to understand and reduce the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking in its business and supply chains.
1. Our commitment
We oppose slavery and human trafficking in all their forms. We do not tolerate forced or compulsory labour, bonded labour, child labour, human trafficking or any other form of exploitation in our business or in our supply chains, and we are committed to continually improving our practices to prevent them.
This statement applies to all our staff, agents and suppliers, in the United Kingdom and overseas.
2. About us
Bonhill Partners Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 14359154, with its address at 145 City Rd, London EC1V 1AZ.
We are a technology talent business, operating in the recruitment and managed services industries. We provide:
Staffing: placing technology professionals with clients in permanent, contract and retained roles
Consulting: team augmentation and managed project teams
Academy: recruiting, training and placing junior technology talent with clients
Near-shore and off-shore delivery: technology services delivered from locations outside the United Kingdom
Our annual turnover is below £36 million, so we are not required to publish a statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We publish this statement voluntarily, to show our commitment to ethical business practices.
3. What modern slavery means
Modern slavery includes any conduct that is modern slavery under the Modern Slavery Act 2015, such as slavery and slavery-like practices, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, human trafficking, debt bondage, child labour, deceptive recruitment and other forms of serious exploitation.
Warning signs can include:
excessive working hours
isolation
abusive working conditions
underpayment, no payment, or withholding of wages
someone else controlling a person's identity documents, communication or pay
4. Our supply chains and risks
Our supply chains mainly include:
consultants and contractors, including those engaged through their own companies or through umbrella companies
associates and partners who help us assess candidates and deliver projects
delivery partners based outside the United Kingdom
suppliers of office services, IT, software and professional services
Most of the people we work with are skilled technology professionals, and we consider the overall risk of modern slavery in our business to be low. We recognise that risks can still arise, in particular:
where workers are paid through third parties, such as umbrella or payroll companies
where work is delivered by partners outside the United Kingdom
in recruitment generally, where people may be charged fees or have their documents withheld
in services used by our suppliers, such as cleaning and security
5. Our commitments to the people we place
We are committed to making sure that:
the workers we place are legally entitled to work in the country where they work
temporary workers we place have a written contract and are paid fairly, and at least in line with the National Minimum Wage where it applies
the people we place do not experience any warning signs of modern slavery
the clients we recruit for are required, through our terms of business, not to engage in modern slavery in relation to anyone we place with them
we never charge candidates a fee for finding them work
6. Our policies
The following policies support our approach, and we review them regularly:
Whistleblowing Policy
Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy
Employee Handbook
Equal Opportunities Policy
7. Due diligence
We expect everyone we do business with to meet the same standards within their own operations and supply chains. To manage the risks we have identified, we aim to:
vet suppliers and sub-contractors, including umbrella and payroll companies, for their commitment to ethical labour practices before working with them
ask suppliers, before or during an agreement, to confirm that they comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and this statement
work with our suppliers, including umbrella companies, to improve how modern slavery risks are identified and reduced
follow up any concerns about pay, deductions or working conditions
investigate any allegation or concern of modern slavery in our business or supply chains, and expect the suppliers involved to cooperate fully
take appropriate action where a concern is confirmed, which may include ending the relationship
8. Training and awareness
Everyone at Bonhill Partners has a role in preventing, spotting and reporting modern slavery. We make sure our team understands the risks, how to recognise the warning signs, and what to do if they have a concern. We reinforce this through regular team meetings, and staff can also share feedback anonymously.
Our staff must tell management immediately if they suspect modern slavery in our business, or if a supplier is suspected of modern slavery or of failing to take steps to prevent it.
9. Measuring our progress
We use the following measures to review how effective our approach is:
the percentage of suppliers and sub-contractors vetted for ethical labour practices
the percentage of staff who have received training on modern slavery risks
the number of concerns reported, and how they were resolved
10. Reporting a concern
If you have a concern about modern slavery connected to our business, please contact us at contact@bonhillpartners.co.uk or on 020 7126 8493.
You can also contact the Modern Slavery & Exploitation Helpline, in confidence, on 08000 121 700. If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
11. Approval
This statement is made for the financial year ending 30 September 2026. It has been approved by the board of directors of Bonhill Partners Ltd, and we will review and update it each year.
